“An absolutely wonderful way to spend a day!! See the island from a new vantage point... We took the full day sail/lunch/drinks/snorkel trip. We sailed all the way around the island of Saint Maarten! It was great! I love sailing and try to get on a sailing trip whenever vacationing where sailing is a draw. More than once we have gone out for a "sail", but never even raised the sails. 'No. 1 Sailing' has the sailing aspect front and center! Peter and Miriam were very capable sailers, and we were wind powered the entire day! Beyond an amazing sailing experience, Miriam balanced the first mate position, with being an amazing hostess. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages meet you as you board the boat. After our stop for a snorkeling venture, we came back to an amazing meal of varied fancy French leaning sandwiches AND customized meals for two of us that were gluten intolerant. This lunch was followed-up with two more courses of light small bites (which were also amazing) and then a beautiful platter brimming with colorful ripe fruits. Not quite sure how Miriam found the time to prepare these delicious foods, while also tending to all her other roles, but she did, and did an excellent job with it all! Peter was our captain, and was an excellent sailor. He managed to sail us in to and out of an active port surrounded by mountains, and was able to do all maneuvering under wind powered alone. He took his responsibilities seriously, and I appreciated this a lot. I would definitely recommend this sailing team!”
“Sailing with Pieter and Mirian on their 50 foot trimaran was our favorite experience in St. Martin. We did the sunset cruise and had a blast. They even let me hoist sails and help out on the boat. We were the last to book and then ran into traffic problems which made us late - and they waited for us, which was above and beyond. On the cruise, Mirian brought us homemade carrot cake, fresh local fruit, meat/cheese plate and excellent quiche. On the way back, as the light was fading, the wind really picked up and we soared over the waves. Pieter, an excellent and experienced sailor, walked me through some of the specifics of sailing his big tri. It was fantastic. I can't wait to do it again.”
“Fantastic evening sail! Ticked all the boxes: comfy seating, small group, no party music and sailing vs under power. Captain was so skilled, avoiding rain, a larger motor yacht that was not paying attention, and finding a lovely sunset on a cloudy day. Highly recommend this business.”
