“If you are not a local they are going to over charge you higher than the local price for rent. I had no choice but to stay at my place for one and a half years now because I am a medical student and can't relocate at my will. ELECTRICITY IS VERY EXPENSIVE AND THEY CHARGE YOU MORE THAN LOCAL PEOPLE PAY. GINA IS A CRAZY DISRESPECTFUL BUILDING MANAGER! She was always yelling at me over the phone when I asked for basic things like asking why I was being overcharged for electricity. She only got her act together when I called the actual building owners. Laundry would stop working, ants are everywhere, I had a mouse they did nothing about, my toilet was clogged and the landlord just gave me directions about fixing it instead of actually sending someone to do it for me. They charge you U.S. level prices but give you trash service. Atleast I had a housemaid come clean my place once a week. YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR YOUR OWN GAS ($120 U.S. CASH ONLY) AND ELECTRICITY (200-400 U.S./ a month) + rent $900 a month for a small place. I AM WRITING THIS TO WARN ALL FUTURE MEDICAL STUDENTS AND TOURISTS WHO WANT TO COME HERE: DO NOT! AVOID! THESE 18 MONTHS WERE A LIVING HELL ! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!”
“It was a very nice stay. We were there for one week. Dec 13th-19th 2024. Beautiful view of Sandy Ground on your personal terrace or balcony. It was just me and my husband but we had plenty of room. It was 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms. One king bed in one room and 2 standard size beds in the other rm. We could have invited another couple to come along. Maybe next time. The manager in the office is Crystal Conner and she checked on us regularly. We got back home to MD today, early morning. Crystal would get for u whatever u need. You would need that considering its so secluded, private and quiet. What I didn't care for was the steep hill climb u have to take by car of foot. And be careful leaving out, visibility is not that great. You have to b careful. Good space for your money. Only 3 min from Sandy Ground which I really like for Elvis Bar and Criss Conch Shack. Souvenirs r reasonably priced at Bijou in Sandy Ground. A nice family spot, feels like home.”
“We stayed there 2 months starting mid Feb 2025. Won’t recommend nor stay there again. We stayed in 2 villas, both very noisy, steep walk/drive down to lower level suite. Ants in other unit. Housekeeping was to occur twice weekly, however ours was once weekly. Driving out from premise to road very dangerous due to limited view of uncoming traffic. During our 8 weeks stay, water was not available 8 times for several hours each time due to various issues. Also electricity was not available several times, with no communication from staff that there were scheduled shutdowns. Owner, Mr Connor appears to be a decent kind older man, however the staff operating the day to day does not have the skills required to do any more than the minimum.”
“I stayed a week in unit 1, a spacious 2BR, 2 Bath apartment with beautiful views of the surrounding hills and Sandy Bay. This a basic, comfortable unit with air conditioning, hot water, full kitchen and most everything you need to fix a meal. There was a TV in the room which I unplugged the moment I arrived. There is a bakery next door and a small supermarket a few steps down the road. Pulling out of the driveway is a little scary as visibility is not great but thats about the only negative I can find. My ranking is based on value and the establishment offers good value for money.”
